Allison + Andy Moab Elopement

The Adventure Continues…

After a frigid but beautiful day at Amangiri, we packed up and headed out to Moab. Their elopement day was full of ease, from a hike through Arches National Park, to a cliffside picnic at Canyonlands National Park. We wrapped up the day with them sharing vows with the most beautiful Western sunset behind them. It was quiet, full of awe-inspiring vistas, and most of all, it was them.

Sun-baked, on a slab of sandstone.

300 million years ago, this spot was under an ancient sea that slowly disappeared. Through time, sediments were deposited, then eroded away by ice, water and wind revealing the wild landscape you can now see in the Moab area.

And then on Wednesday, these two sat here under a massive arch. I always want it to mean something- this clashing of now and then. When talking about another part of nature I asked Andy why he thought something had evolved the way it did... He said something to the effect of “It doesn’t have to mean anything at all.” I thought that was beautiful too, we can just be here. In this brief speck of a moment, that’s all that matters. Together.
