Champagne in the Desert- A Moab Elopement Story
These two sweet people came out to the desert surrounding Moab to celebrate getting married. They packed up a bottle of champagne, a little wedding cake and headed out for a cliffside celebration. As usual, the desert pulled through with an amazing sky and plenty of wind to show off Mylene’s dress.
We scrambled around on rocks and marveled at the vastness of this place. Almost all of the elopements I get to be a part of have an element of this- childlike wonder that reminds us that we weren’t put on this Earth to stare at a computer and then have it all be over. I love seeing couples feel red rock under their hands and take deep breaths while they marvel. Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway? A marvel for this world, and for two people, and for all of it colliding. That’s worth a swig of champagne in the desert, don’t you think?
